In accordance with the Regulation of Electronic Communications and Postal Services Law (Law 112(I)/2004) (e-Privacy), as it has been amended, all users of websites that use Cookies must be informed that the website contains Cookies, the types of Cookies, and the purpose for which Cookies are used. The placement of Cookies on users' devices requires, in almost all cases, the prior explicit and active consent of users.
Not all Cookies contain personal information, but where they do, such information will be treated as personal data. For more information regarding the processing of your personal data, please refer to the Privacy Policy.
1. What are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit: (a) the public website of the DVB-T2 Digital Terrestrial Television service in Cyprus ("Website"), and (b) the Channel Programme Management Portal ("Portal")
They are used to ensure the proper functioning of the Website and Portal, to improve user experience, and, where applicable, for statistical analysis.
The placement of Cookies on users' devices requires, in all cases, the prior explicit and active consent of users, except for strictly necessary Cookies, which are permitted without consent.
2. Categories of Cookies
Cookies are categorised into groups, based on certain characteristics. In general, there are three different ways to classify Cookies, depending on: (a) their origin, (b) their duration, and (c) their purpose.
A. Provenance
First-Party Cookies are placed on your device directly by the Website or the Portal.
Third-Party Cookies may be placed on your device by a third party (i.e. not by the Website or Portal), acting on our behalf, such as an advertiser or analytics provider. We do not have access to or control over the Cookies or other features that third-party advertisers or websites may use. The information practices of such third parties are not covered by our Privacy Policy or Cookies Policy. Please contact them directly for more information about their privacy practices.
B. Duration
Session Cookies are temporary and expire once you close your browser (or at the time of session expiration).
Persistent Cookies remain on your hard drive until you or your device delete them, depending on the expiration date of the Cookie. All Persistent Cookies have an expiration date written into their code, though their duration may vary.
C. Purpose
Strictly Necessary Cookies are required for basic functions, such as security, session management and login. They are necessary for the operation of the Website or Portal or to respond to requests you submit. Your consent is not required.
Functional Cookies allow the Website or Portal to store data that has already been entered (e.g. usernames, preferences, language settings) and provide improved, more personalised features. Your consent is required.
Performance Cookies are used to make the Website or Portal more user-friendly and, therefore, improve your experience by analysing your behavior while browsing the Website or Portal. They are also used in conjunction with user tracking. These are Persistent Cookies and, almost always Third Party Cookies. Your consent is required.
Marketing/Analytics Cookies are used to provide you with content that is more relevant and tailored to your interests. These are Persistent Cookies and, almost always Third Party cookies. Your consent is required.
